How to Survive in the Corporate Jungle
Working in a corporate jungle can sometimes take its toll. Just getting up in the morning, dressing up in corporate wear and animal cufflinks everyday, driving to and from work, braving all the traffic and finding a good spot to park in can already be a big challenge. It takes great discipline to get up in the morning and do everything that is required to get to work on time, and then get out again to have some time left with the family at night. And then there is the task of having to get along well with all your co-workers and bosses, many of whom may not be so likeable. They may have their own personal agenda, which may not include being a helpful co-worker. Or they may not be as responsible as you, or may not even be so conscientious as to dress up properly and wear designer cufflinks to work, instead show up in very casual attire without even bothering to wear a jacket. These are harsh realities in life but the bigger reality is that you need to work to earn, because you cannot afford to be without income. And for that you need to adapt to the jungle that you are in. What you need to do is to focus on the good things in life and concentrate on giving out a good performance at work so you can be compensated well. That is, after all, the very reason you work for – you need money to support the family. And have a lot of humor. Start with wearing the lion head cufflinks so you can turn harsh realities into something that is amusing.
